S.A.M.S., (Security Advisory & Management Services Ltd.), was founded over a decade ago by three gentlemen who had the training, experience and guile to put the theory of high tech security into practice. They were all Army Officers.

The simple fact of the matter was that the principle of a man with a gun and a dog being security was not absolute. The position remains the same today. Security is about the management of assets, be they human or financial.

So our philosophy, the SAMS philosophy, was and still remains, that security is a management function, and like all other aspects of management, it has a direct impact on both the short-term and long-term financial health of all businesses.

We took this philosophy to market, and not only has it been successful in practice, but it has been copied. This is something of which we are particularly proud, that we not only initiated the principle of security as a management function, but also the operating standards of security as a management function. What we have tried to get right, and our clients inform us that we have, is to stay on the leading edge of the evolving and ever-changing threat to security, and apply new technology and know-how to managing those threats.

It is said that the mantle of leadership is not easy to wear. To stay ahead, one has to:

• Set one's standards higher than the competition,
• Be even more cost effective than the competition,
• Utilize technology that is faster and more powerful than the competition,
• Employ specialist personnel in all crafts.

We were dedicated to these principles when we were founded, and we continue to be dedicated to them today.

S.A.M.S. is adept at solving security problems, and since we do not work off a template, but rather treat each client as if he were our only client, we have to be flexible. We are a solutions driven company, and we wholeheartedly believe that all security problems that are presented to us can, and will be solved.

Our reputation has grown to the extent that our very presence in a company can, and frequently does, act as a deterrent to potential wrongdoers. Much of what we do has to do with a change in psychology. Through the simple act of S.A.M.S. assuming the responsibility to deal with the threat to a client, the client frequently experiences a sense of security improvement among management and employees. As a consequence, productivity improves, losses are reduced, and there is a commensurate increase in profits.

Simply put, what we do is detect, interdict and (through the appropriate authority) assist with the prosecution of miscreants. We deal with a wide variety of matters, including piracy of trade marks, violation of copyright, contravention of public law and civil law, and corruption both in the public and private sectors.
