We have seen a dramatic increase in the level of white-collar crime. In addition, increased levels of fraud and impropriety at all levels have overwhelmed the resources of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) whose primary role is to investigate and prosecute such matters.

Many persons view the JCF Fraud Squad as a collection agency, in that months of investigative work will go into a particular case only to have it withdrawn since restitution has been made to the aggrieved party who subsequently withdraws the complaint. As a direct result of this, the Division's case load is very high, and completion schedules are often protracted.

SAMS has responded to a demand for private investigations to be carried out. Over the past twelve (12) years, operating in concert with the client, their attorneys and the JCF Fraud Squad, we have obtained conviction in every instance.

The company's investigative services currently include the following areas:

Fraud (all aspects);

Theft (all aspects);

Extortion;

Insurance claims (motor vehicle, theft, personal injury, death);

Due diligence (background inquiries on companies/individuals on behalf of prospective investors);

pre-employment screening (detailed background inquiries on individuals prior to employment);

Undercover investigations (placement of undercover investigators within the client workforce to carry out specific investigations, e.g. warehouse theft);

Litigation support (provision of confidential investigative services for the legal fraternity in civil and criminal matters, i.e. process serving, witness identification, asset searches/recovery, research, etc.);

Intelligence collection (clients desirous of opening or operating a business in a particular area may require a detailed report or risk analysis prior to 'setting up shop');

Trademark/copyright (investigations concerning trademark/copyright infringements).
